Founded by Kazuko Hohki and Kazumi Taguchi, cult Japanese pop-art group Frank Chickens had a chart hit in the 1980s with We Are Ninja and have released 5 albums since, as well as touring worldwide including performances at Glastonbury festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (alongside Stewart Lee and Franz Ferdinand) and Tottenham.

In 2010 they were voted the winners of the Foster Comedy God by the public, and that’s not something that dissipates overnight.

On top of all that, there are now about 17 of them, so if you thought you could ignore them before, there’s no way that’s happening now. Which is good, because the audio-visual onslaught on your senses is going to do you a world of good
